IOC believes in building sustainable relationships that support host communities, near neighbours and key stakeholders, contributing to positive regional economic outcomes and working in partnership. IOC regularly participates in community forums and working groups, including with our Indigenous partners, to discuss issues of common interest. This helps us adapt to changing priorities in the regions of Labrador West and Sept-Îles. This is an important part of community and social performance linking us to the communities in which we live and operate.
As a proud member of the Labrador West and North Shore communities, IOC is deeply invested in the vibrancy and sustainability of local and Indigenous communities. The needs of communities require contributions and efforts from many sources such as government, industry, and community organizations. IOC aims to invest where there are gaps that cannot be filled by other areas of the community and where IOC is best positioned to deliver a meaningful positive impact. IOC’s social investment approach seeks to deliver lasting, positive outcomes and a legacy of valued contribution for the communities where we partner and operate. Three Stream Program:
Contributions under C$10,000 is just one stream in the social investment portfolio.
Contributions over C$10,000 aimed at strategic partnership for positive impact with measurable outcomes to benefit communities.
Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) are key values across the ÌÇÐÄvlogÈë¿Úgroup. Our target is zero incidents, for employees, suppliers and contractors working at our sites. Our focus on HSE performance and compliance extends to all existing and potential on-site suppliers and contractors.
At IOC, we are committed to cultural heritage by engaging and consulting with Indigenous Peoples who claim and/or assert Indigenous rights and/or other interests in the regions where we operate.
At IOC, we are committed to sustainability, diversity and supporting Indigenous Peoples with training, education, employment and business opportunities. Since 2014, IOC has successfully signed agreements with 5 Indigenous groups, partnering to create opportunities such as training and development, employment, collaboration on environmental projects, and procurement partnerships.
